I’m planning to get colored contact lenses. Normally, i wear the basic clear lenses and I’m fine with them. A few of my friends wear colored lenses, and one of them told me it’s HARD TO SEE in them, because there’s only one hole on the lenses that allow your eyes to see. Is this true that it is more difficult seeing with colored contacts than with the clear ones?
With opaque colored contact lenses, the hole that your pupil sees through is fixed. It does not widen or close like your eye does. So in dark lighting, your pupil will be open very wide. If your pupil is open wider than the hole in the colored contact lens, then it might be a little difficult to see.
Also, some contact lenses tend to slide around in your eye, so there may be times when it does that and your vision may be slightly blocked.
Your best best is to get a free sample pair of colored contact lenses and see how they work for you.

In normal room light or better there is no problem . In low light such as driving at night or a dance floor you may notice some of a halo on the edges of your vision. If you are wearing FOCUS brand they are invisible unless you are standing on your head. then you would get a slight red tone over the whole area . You would get the red overtone even if you were not wearing contacts. you did not mention what color your eyes were but if the are any light color you can have lots of fun. Your ecp has or can get samples for you to try. you can get lenses in Rx or plano consider a few plano to be worth while when you are wearing glasses. it really confuses people.I have worn colored contacts since they first came on the market. Have fun , enjoy
