Those free trials are usually given away by your optometrist, and are made to help you sample other companies and models of contact lenses. Contact manufacturers don’t really advertise on television or radio, so what they do is give away the free trials of contacts and allow people to feel the difference, if there is one. The big thing with these though, is that you have to get a few day’s worth, if they are disposable. The reason for this, is because, just using a pair for a day may not reveal all of the lenses problems concerning your eyes. If you give the lens more than a day or two to settle in, your eyes are going to start showing signs of whether or not they are going to accept the free trial you are testing.
Not all free trials are going to be right for your eyes, so you are going to have to expect to go through more than a few different samples of different brands to find the ones that are right for you. In order to do this, get your prescription from your optometrist, and take it to the eye doctors in your area, asking for samples from different companies. Let them know that you need at least a week of each type of free trial contact lens, in order to ensure your eyes are going to adapt properly. Make sure that they are in your prescription to be able to determine the exact cause of any eye strain, or discomfort that pops up. When you start noticing itchiness, redness, or dryness, take the lenses out, and let your eyes relax.
If you have figured out that one of the brands of free trial contacts are irritating your eyes, then after you have allowed them to rest, try to use the same brand one more time – maybe the next day. If at this time, the redness, itchiness, or dryness occurs again, then remove the lens, and discontinue use immediately. Move on to the next free trial, because there are just going to be more issues with the previous one if you continued use for more than a few days.
Like I mentioned above, not all lenses are made the same, and each person is different for what they require, so this is why companies give away so many free trials of contact lenses. With a little effort, you’ll find the best contacts for your eyes and save money doing it.
