Gray Contacts for Dark Eyes

in Colored Contact Lenses

Colored contact lenses are becoming more and more popular. Whether you wear contact lenses as an accessory, or wear them because you need them to see, they are great way to complete your look. Eye color is one of the most striking characteristics of the face. Why not make it fun?

Try Gray Contact Lenses if You Have Dark Eyes

Contact lenses come in a wide variety of colors. The most common colors are blue, green, brown and gray. You can also purchase aqua and random colors (like red, purple and even orange). When you have light eyes, you selection of colors is greater. When you have dark eyes, it may be harder to find contacts that will really change your color a lot, but it can be done. Did you know Paris Hilton actually has dark brown eyes? She wears light blue contact lenses. You would never be able to tell, though. Blue and green colored contacts work a little better for dark eyes because of their opaque material. Gray colored contact lenses typically do not have as much opaque in them, so usually the gray color is not as pronounced as green and blue.

To be honest, you may not even see a huge difference in most brands of gray contact lenses if you are looking to really change the colors of your eyes. If anything, putting gray contact lenses in dark eyes might produce a muddy eye color look. However, it can be done. And it can look gorgeous.

Colored contacts typically come in two forms: opaque lenses and color enhancement. If you have dark eyes, you would want to get opaque lenses. Enhancements will only do that- enhance you original eye color. Opaque lenses can actually change the look of your color. Each brand of contacts have different color elements in them. So, if you want the obvious (and gorgeous) look, you should try Freshlooks Contacts. If you want to look great (but not so obvious), you might opt for Acuvue instead. The good thing about colored contacts is that they are temporary. So, if you do not like the color, or if you simply get tired of the color and want to switch them out, it can easily be done.

When going to get your contacts, most eye doctors will let you try a disposable pair of colored contacts to see if you are going to like the color. You need to ask your eye doctor if he or she has different brands of the same color. That way, you can see first hand how each pair changes your eye color. If you want to wear colored contacts daily, you should have a prescription. Remember, eyes are the main focus point on your face. You will be truly amazing at how different you may look by changing dark eyes to gray eyes.
