Good contact lens cases need to be compact but durable as well as easy to use. Good ones have a leak proof seal and stay shut when you close them. I prefer the screw off caps rather than the kind that just press closed since the kind with the screw top is more secure and does not leak.
They should also have the left and right (or at least just the right) lens clearly marked on it. Sometimes the two compartments are different colored. Getting the lenses mixed up could be a problem, so you’re best off getting a contact lens case that is very clear on which one is for your left eye and which is for your right eye.
Every time you remove your contacts and put them into the case, make sure it’s clean. Rinse it out and use fresh contact lens cleaning solution. This keeps germs and bacteria away from your lenses, keeping both you and your eyes healthy. It’s also good to let it dry during the day after you discard the used solution. If you get into this habit, then your contact lenses will have a good chance of staying clean and working well for you. When they’re clean, they are easy to get in.
Change contact lens cases each month. Yes, it’s good to do that rather than cleaning the same case over and over since you might not get it totally clean all the time. It’s best to have a few extra on hand in case you need one. Sometimes you can get a pack of 3 or 6, which save you money.
Some nicer contact lens cases out there will have a mirror built right into them to help you put in your contacts and make sure they made it into your eyes. When you travel, you might not always have a mirror near by. It’s very helpful to know that they made it into your eyes and didn’t fall off your finger and land on the floor.

It’s a good idea to have a case in your desk drawer at the office, in the glove box of your car and, of course, at home. Keep a small, travel size bottle of contact lens cleaning solution as well.
