The Trend of Coloured Contact Lenses
Coloured contact lenses are a very popular and unique fashion trend. When they first popped on the market, many were shocked at the range of people that were interested in wearing them. In fact many of the people that desired a change in their eye colour – on a temporary basis – were people with darker eye shades. This presented a unique challenge for the contact lens wearer.
Special Considerations When Wearing Coloured Contact Lenses for Dark Eyes
Most Natural Looking Colored Contact Lenses for Dark Eyes
There were a few things that had to be considered. There are only a few lenses that will cover a naturally dark eye colour like brown or black, and also, there were only certain colours that once achieved, would look appropriate with a darker skin tone–should you have both dark eyes and dark skin. Even if you have lighter skin with darker eyes, your natural skin colouring, and hair colouring, may not be appropriate for an extremely different or pale eye colour. There are 2 forms of colour contacts – enhancement coloured lenses and opaque coloured contacts. Enhancers often are available in special shaded subtleties like cyan, teal and grey. They are configured to cause your natural optic shade appear more brilliant. These contacts are semitransparent, and make a natural-looking result. Regrettably, enhancement colour lenses work exclusively for pale eyes.
Unfortunately with dark-brown eyes, enhancers cause no effect at all or simply create a really faint tinge that isn’t sufficient to alter your colouring. Opaque coloured lenses, on the other end, are particularly configured for dark-brown eyes. As the title hints, they aren’t see-through; just the middle of the lens is sheer, so you are able to continue to see. Opaque contacts aren’t solidly coloured. They are meant to imitate the lifelike blueprint of a human iris.
Is There Any Hope for People Looking to Wear Coloured Contact Lenses with Dark Eyes?
All the same, not every single opaque coloured lens does a complete task of imitating a natural eye’s blueprint. There are however a couple of namebrands that produce a brilliant, but natural-looking, outcome.
What are the Best Coloured Contact Lens Products on the Market for Dark Coloured Eyes
Freshlook Colorblends from Ciba Vision look really authentic, since the baseline colouring for each contact is, in reality, a combination of 3 special colours – exactly as it normally is in the human iris. This contact is fainter towards the center and deeper at the margin, with a radiation pattern formed on it. The shade produced is intense, but deep, so Freshlook Colorblends will not cause your eyes to be more light-coloured. Freshlook Colorblends are monthly disposable colour contacts. Amethyst and True Sapphire are their better shades.
Acuvue 2 Colors Opaques, likewise make eyes have a beautiful, authentic feeling. Like most Acuvue lenses, Acuvue 2 Colors is a comfy lens. The contacts are created to be changed every 2 weeks – this is what the “2″ in the title implies. Acuvue 2 Colors is a product of Johnson & Johnson.

I have grown good and tired of websites that promise true results of colorchange for dark eyes!$100 of dollars later, still have not found the right color or brand, just a muddy no effect lense. But the one’s i have found to work cost as much as much as $1000 dollars!Who has that money just for color change eyes?If you do,good for you,i don’t!Is there anyone that can give me a true answer for what I am looking for?
Sometimes you have to pay for quality. I think that’s the answer here. Special effect contact lenses used in theatrical productions or on television are custom made and are expensive but they feel it’s worth it.
