Colored Contacts for Astigmatism
If you have astigmatism, you can use contact lenses. The kind you need are called toric contacts. They have a small weight at the bottom of them, which keeps them in the right position in your eye. Sometimes if you turn your head or lay on your side, then the contact may move and your vision may become blurred. Even so, people with astigmatism do enjoy the benefits of wearing contacts.
One benefit of wearing contact lenses is that contacts don’t get dirty or oily during the day like glasses often do. Contacts also offer a more consistent view than glasses, which have a lens that’s farther away from your eye. That means you’ll see less waviness in your vision when you move your head around. Contacts also don’t fog up when you come in from the cold. And they don’t fall off when you bend over and are often easier when playing sports.
So changing from glasses to contacts has advantages. You will still need to have a pair of glasses with an updated prescription for when you take your contact lenses out – like at night or during the evenings. Most contacts do tend to dry out in the evenings after being worn all day, so if you want to drive or car or just see the TV clearly, then you’ll need a set of glasses even though you’re wearing contacts.
If you want to change the color of your eyes, then you can with toric colored contacts. They’re made for people with astigmatism and offer an opaque color for your eyes, with the pupil being uncovered, of course. One disadvantage with colored contacts is that the colored part of the lens may sometimes slip since contacts do move around sometimes (like I mentioned above when you move your head or lay on your side). So when that happens or when your pupils grow larger, you may have some obstructed vision since the colored part of the lens does not change. It is set, in position – unlike your eye, which allows your pupil to freely open and close.
To order colored astigmatism contacts, you will first need an updated prescription from your eye doctor. So if you have not seen your eye doctor in a while, it’s time for a visit. If you just had an appointment and have ordered your normal contacts already, then it’s up to you if you want to order colored contacts now or wait for the next time.
Free Trial Contacts for Astigmatism
I encourage you to first find which brand of toric contacts you like the best by ordering free, trial contact lenses. There are plenty of articles on this site that explain how to do that. You can order free contacts and sample each one to see which brand suits you the best. Once you’ve gone through your free contact lenses and have found the ones you like the best, then you can see if that manufacturer offers colored toric contact lenses. If they do, then you can order that brand and be confident that you’ll enjoy wearing that brand and know that they will feel comfortable in your eyes. That’s really the best way to go about ordering colored contact lenses if you have astigmatism.
Also, when choosing colored contacts, get opinions about what color might look the best on you. There are many colors available.
Don’t ever buy cheap colored contacts as they may be made with inferior materials that could cause a reaction with your eyes or cause an infection. Take care of your eyes and they will take care of you!
