Contact lenses can be used for a variety of reasons depending on the wearer. They have been around for over 120 years and are still gaining popularity. Acuvue contact lenses are a good choice for the person that is interested in switching from spectacles to contact lenses. They are comfortable and easy to put in and remove and they offer a wider range of vision as opposed to glasses. They can be removed at night before one goes to bed or they can be left in the eye over night for six or more days. The latter version has to be cleaned properly if it is to remain in the eye for extended periods in order to avoid damaging the eye. This may occur if there is a bacterial infestation on the lens causing the iris and or the corneas to become irritated or even ulcerated.

The Acuvue opaque contact lens can be used to change the appearance of the eye completely. This can be done by not only choosing a colored contact lens but by choosing a design that may alter the shape and size of the iris. An iris-altering lens tends to be covered on the outer area that does not cover the iris making the eye look bigger than it actually is. These Acuvue contacts are not only comfortable, they allow the eye to breathe an option that is made possible by using silicone to manufacture the lens. Other lenses in the market do not allow the eye to breathe and may result in headaches for the wearer.

Acuvue contacts can have a dual purpose for the eye in that they can alter the color of the eye and they can improve one’s defective eyesight. Cleaning these lenses is of paramount importance as is proper storage. Contact lenses are convenient and they can be disposed of if and when necessary.

The disposable version of the contact lens is made thinner and lighter than the longer-term version and they are only for a single day. The longer-term contacts can be worn for as long as 10 years without the need for replacement. The other forms of contact lenses that are available are the theatrical and the therapeutic. The theatrical version of the opaque contact lens is used in plays and movies and may make the eye seem demonic or even lifeless while the therapeutic lens is used to keep any diseased or injured part of the eye covered.

Acuvue opaque contact lenses are a good choice for the client whether for cosmetic or corrective purposes.
